Find tools and parts You need a lot of parts and the right tools to upgrade a weapon fully. Parts are scattered throughout the environment; keep an eye out for them as you scavenge for supplies. Tools can be found inside red toolboxes hidden in the environment, often in hard-to-reach places or behind locked doors that require a shiv to open.
Focus on one weapon Focusing your resources on a single weapon is the fastest way to unlock this trophy. The revolver is the easiest weapon to upgrade fully. It has the fewest total upgrades overall, and you only need to find three tools to unlock its full potential.
New Game+ New Game+ is unlocked after completing the game. This allows you to play through the game again with all upgrades obtained in a previous playthrough. If you did not fully upgrade any weapons the first time through, use New Game+ to give yourself a head start.

During the mall encounter In Left Behind, after jumping out of the helicopter, take out or sneak past the enemies by the record shop and enter the air duct down the hall. When you emerge above a sporting goods store, note the infected below. When the enemies start approaching, toss a bottle or brick to get the infected to take some of them out for you.
At the electronics store There is another chance to unlock this trophy in the electronics store, past the sporting goods store. Drop into the store and sneak over to the main floor. Several hunters will enter from the far end of the room. Use listen mode to spot the sleeping infected nearby. Throw a bottle or brick toward the hunters to send the infected their way.
